About the Centre
Pakenham YMCA Early Learning Centre has 6 programs with the capacity to care for and educate 104 children a day. We operate between the hours of 6:30am-6:30pm, Monday to Friday. Working in alignment with The Y Victoria’s philosophy, our service prides itself on fostering and enhancing children’s learning through play, whilst also providing our community with high quality care and education. We are a purpose built facility where the team work together to enhance children’s curiosity for learning and engage their interests in exploring the world around them. Not only do we focus on a sense of belonging for children, but our education team also. Our management are very involved and connected with all classrooms, providing mentoring and support for educators to assist in delivering high quality programs. At Pakenham YMCA, educators have set shifts to support the consistency in delivering our program to children and families, also providing certainty for educators and their families.
About the role
We believe the role of everyone in our team is to provide a positive environment for children to learn and thrive. As an Early Childhood Educator your role will involve:
- Adopting modern teaching techniques, you will be well versed with the National Framework in Early Learning;
- You will be working with, and under the direction of the Room Leader to plan and implement quality programs for children that aligns with their individual strengths and interests as well as using an approved curriculum framework;
- You will be a role model for children in developing lifelong skills and instilling in them a passion for learning;
- You will need to assist with preparing and clearing up of activities;
- You will need to maintain record keeping and documentation;
- And ensuring the highest quality of service at the Centre

In order to apply and be successful for this position you’ll need to have the following:
- Have experience with early age groups, programming and documentation
- Have a willingness to learn and grow professionally
- Be a natural leader and love to share your knowledge
- Promote and advocate good health and treat every child’s health as a top priority
- Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood/Children’s services
- First Aid and CPR certification as well as Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification
