Your role
Manager, Child Protection Policy
The Manager of Child Protection Policy plays a key role in setting the direction and delivery of policy and reform development in the child protection system. As the owner of policy and policy instruments (e.g. case work practice mandates, policy and guidance) from design through to implementation, you will have a key role in shaping which children enter the child protection system and how they and their families are supported so they can safely leave it.
Manager, Intensive Supports
The Manager Intensive Supports plays a key role in stewarding and shaping the residential out-of-home care (OOHC) system. You will play a key role in the strategic commissioning and policy guidance for the residential OOHC system with work ranging from design through to implementation, you will have a key role in shaping the residential care system and improving child outcomes.
Manager, Policy and Strategy
The Manager, Policy and Strategy, plays a key role in coordinating strategic policy advice across the continuum of child safety and wellbeing initiatives, including the development of strategic reform proposals across the child safety and wellbeing system. You will also coordinate and monitor implementation of DCJ’s Child Safe Action Plan and coordinate improved responses
for people with disability in contact with DCJ funded and provided services for children and families.
What you’ll do
As Manager Child Protection Policy, you will:
- Lead and manage a small team and as part of the wider Family Preservation Child Protection leadership team
- Develop and deliver high-quality policy advice and products at pace
- Partner with AbSec and community, the Aboriginal Outcomes Division, operations and districts to refine the Aboriginal Case Management Policy
- Lead the development and implementation of pregnancy family conferencing
As Manager Intensive Supports, you will:
- Lead and manage a small team of staff
- Collaborate with central and District DCJ units and sector partners in the development, refinement and implementation of policy collateral, strategic commissioning activities and stewardship of the residential OOHC system
- Provide strategic advice and reporting to senior executive and Ministers
As Manager, Policy and Strategy, you will:
- Lead and manage a team of around five staff
- Develop strategic policy advice and reform proposals in collaboration with a range of DCJ units, sector and interagency partners.
- Lead the implementation of DCJ’s Child Safe Action to improve the safety of children in services provided by DCJ and related bodies
- Coordinate service and system improvements for people with disability in contact with services for children and families.
What we’re looking for
Candidates must have subject matter expertise in child protection or out-of-home care and/or policy making expertise. Ideal candidates will also have experience of working with Aboriginal people and community, in project management and implementation /change management.
