The role will include, but not limited to:
- Demonstrate commitment to tangata whenuatanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership in Aotearoa New Zealand
- Use inquiry, collaborative problem- solving and professional learning to improve professional capability to impact on the learning and achievement of all konga
- Establish and maintain professional relationships and behaviours focused on the learning and wellbeing of each learner
- Develop a culture that is focused on learning, and is characterised by respect, inclusion, empathy, collaboration and safety
- Design learning based on curriculum and pedagogical knowledge, assessment information and an understanding of each learners strengths, interests, needs, identities, languages and cultures
- Teach and respond to konga in a knowledgeable and adaptive way to progress their learning at an appropriate depth and pace
Job pre-requisites:
- Three-year work experience at ECE facility is required
- A bachelors degree related to ECE Teaching or Preschool Education is required
- Previous work experience in a multi-cultural ECE centre in New Zealand is preferred
- Basic knowledge of Te Reo Maori and Te Whariki or a willingness to learn
- A motivation to work with children to implement quality, engaging and activity-based programmes
- Have an ability to build strong, friendly relationships with tamariki and whanau
- Confidence working with information and communication technology (ICT) equipment e.g. computer, iPad etc.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Positive can-do attitude and punctual
- Exceptional communicator
