Procurement Data Lead [Canada]

We are on a journey to grow our data/analytics practice and we are seeking a Procurement Data Lead to help us accelerate the adoption of Procurement best practices.


Reporting to Manager, Data Analytics, the successful candidate will be directly responsible for dashboard developement, data models deisgn and in-dept analytics to support key business decision.


What you will do:

  • Be the owner of the Procurement data and reporting pipeline by managing the data model and integration through SQL, Python and Power BI

    Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation and automate reports and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs
  • Use the expert knowledge of statistical analysis, data mining techniques, machine learning to develop data driven algorithmic models to describe and measure the performance of Procurement managed spend
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques
  • Leverage data analysis and associated insights and results to help determine and recommend appropriate strategies and tactics for the Procurement portfolio
  • Proactively identify present and future obstacles, issues, and opportunities. Takes actions to address such obstacles.
  • Optimize data management procedures to ensure data quality and report consistency


What you will bring:

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Master’s degree an asset
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in analytic roles demonstrating an ability to derive actionable insights. Knowledge of telecom industry and Procurement is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and at least one coding languages to manipulate data
  • Experience in data models and data visualization, skills in PowerBI an asset
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical and analytical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions etc.)
  • Skilled with leveraging systems and data trends to identify opportunities to drive the company’s strategy
  • Passionate about technology, data science, analytical models, machine learning, quantitative modelling, software development and automation
  • Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines, goals and targets in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; a demonstrated collaborator
